You all let’s get started. Today is going to be a shorty but a goodie. And let me tell you why I talked about this topic the other day on my stories. And I had so many people reach out to me saying, oh my gosh, that is exactly what I needed to hear today. And I think it’s such an important topic. I need to remind myself all the time of this.
And I hope that this serves you well, too. So I’m going to dive right into it because the other day, listen, I was real and pretty salty and little Josephine was feeling pretty salty. Also in that video, she might be feeling salty right now. Oh my gosh. You want to say hi Josephine, say hi, #newborn life.
So I wanted to bring this up for my podcast community, because I think this is just a principle that serves everyone. Okay. So if you don’t know part of my story, I am sober. I have 25 years of sobriety under my belt. So in the, when I was in my mid twenties, I’m 50 right now. So when I was 25,
I was living in Mexico city and had, wow, just a raging drug and alcohol addiction. And one night I was attacked by four people. And that is a much longer story that we can talk about at another time. And it’s not the purposes of this podcast, but that next, you know, it was in that week. I made the decision to find help with my alcoholism.
And so on July 15th in 1996, y’all 1996, walked into a 12 step meeting and started doing the work of sobriety. So there’s something, and this is what I want to talk about today. There is a principle that we talk about in the rooms that says it works. If you work, it, it works. If you work it. So as in regards to sobriety,
it’s like, if you work these 12 steps, you can stay sober. Like if you go through and you say, I’m gonna thoroughly work these 12 steps because I start work. It works. If you work it, like if you put in the work, it will work. And I think that this goes to all areas of our life. So say you want to get healthy.
And somebody says, Hey, here is a fantastic meal plan. Here is all the resources that you would ever need. Here is exactly what to do in your workout. All you have to do is follow it. And people are like excited for a day or two. They follow it for a day or two. Then they go, oh wait, this is kind of hard because I’m like actually eating proper nutrition and I’m not seeing any results.
It’s been three days. And I feel like I should have results by now. Y’all it works. If you work it, you have to look at your health. As a long term lifestyle, changing of going. I am going to love myself. I’m going to be positive enough about my body, that I’m actually going to take care of it so that I can live longer,
have more vitality, have more energy, be able to do the things that I want to do. You know, like I don’t work out because I’m like, oh my God, I love it. I absolutely don’t. I don’t eat well because I crave spinach. Like I don’t, but I know that what I put in my body is fuel for my body and how I move.
My body keeps me at my age of 50 being bull and, and doing all those things. And that may be something that you struggle with, you know, reach out to me and let me know if you need help with that. But if I was only working 50%, you know, I’m going to eat healthy 50% of the day. And then the other 50% of the day,
I’m going to eat crap. Well, that’s not going to work. You actually have to work the tools that you have available in health and wellness for it to work for you. The same thing with business, you know, somebody is so many people say, well, I really want to grow this massive online following. And then they, they post once a month on their social,
or they may do a reel once a year on their social. And you go, well, you’re not actually putting in the work for the results that you want. So this is what I want to say to you. Well, if there is an area of your life that you want to change, that you want to improve, that you want to Excel it,
that you want to move forward in that you want to have a breakthrough in, listen, y’all you gotta put in the work. You cannot be upset about the results that you don’t have because of work. You didn’t do. You can’t, you have to actually put in the work. And so, Hey, I hope that that serves you because anytime you sit back and you go,
Hmm, I’m just not seeing results. I’m not, you know, if you start hearing that, that voice in your head, I don’t think this is working. You need to ask yourself, are you working? Are you working it again? Don’t be upset about the results you don’t have because of work. You didn’t do. So ask yourself, are you doing the work?
There’s lots of areas of my life that I’m not doing the work, you know? And I go, oh, that is a great self evaluation. You all. I am not doing the work in that area. Let me put in some work right there. Work is not a bad word. Y’all it means it’s the thing that propels you towards your better future.
And if that’s what you want, you got to put in the work. All right. You all, listen, I’ve got some exciting stuff coming up.
