I’ve been thinking and praying the past couple of days how to articulate a few of the things I experienced at the outpouring of God at Asbury University. I went for five days and even got to take Tim and Josephine for some of it.
.
Right after I gave my life to Christ 20 years ago, I would sneak into chapel and sit in the balcony to hear messages of Jesus. I was new in my faith and wanted to be anywhere I could to learn more about Him. While sitting in the corner seat of the back balcony, I started to pray for an outpouring of God.
.
The five days I spent in Hughes auditorium, felt like a renewing, a remembering, a deepening, and a new era being ushered in. There were no fancy bells, celebrity pastors programmed services or rockstar worship leaders. It felt pure, without division and holy. A call to repentance, a call to holiness, worshipping together as one.
.
I saw friends and ministry partners old and new, different denominations, different languages being spoken, little babies and elderly.
.
Together.
.
I spoke a few days ago about us having space to linger in the presence of the Lord. That we can do better than just opening up the doors 2 hrs a week for a church service.
.
Today I’d like to share another thought as well.
.
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”
1 Corinthians 12:12 NIV
.
One of the beautiful things I saw was so many denominations present. All worshiping together without the thought of this is how we are different but instead, this is how we are all together the body of Christ – one church, one people in worship.
.
Together we are the whole body of Christ. Let’s put down denominational divisions and work as one.
.
I believe the Lord is calling in warriors that will battle for being in the presence of God, repentance, holiness, and pure worship. I cannot wait to see what God does next. Be expectant my friends.
.
More thoughts to come…
